Eating out in Elgol

The Elgol Bistro offers evening meals.

Elgol Shop  offers freshly made soup, seafood snacks, filled rolls and home baking.  Coruisk House is good quality restaurant and booking is essential.

Eating out in Broadford
Creelers Seafood Restaurant, The Claymore Restaurant , CafeSia, Harbour Restaurant, and Deli Gasta are all worth checking out.

Eating out further afield
Kyleakin – Taste of India – is great curry house and gets busy in the season.

Down in Sleat the big attraction is  Kinloch Lodge Hotel – home of Lady Claire MaDonald’s cookery school which guarantees a great eating out occasion.

Where can I get fresh seafood?

If you prefer to cook your own then go down to Elgol Pier in the late afternoon and make enquiries of the local fishermen who land crabs, lobsters, langoustines and other shellfish most days – weather permitting.

Near the Skye Bridge is Skye Bridge Seafoodswhich offers a full range of produce.

Drink

Skye has it’s own brewery, at Uig in the north of the island.  It’s Black Cuillin and Red Cuillin ales are available throughout the island

The world famous Talisker distillery has a visitor centre.  You get a sample at the end!

A more recent development is a new distillery at Toravaig where you can book a tour.
