We are trying to create a holiday destination that offers a bit more than just a “standard” holiday cottage by focusing on all the great wildlife you might discover and the wide choice of things to do on Skye.
Where we are
There’s no denying that Springbank is a long way from the South of Scotland let alone the South of England. But, it’s a journey that has got “shorter” over the years with improved roads, a free bridge crossing, and cheaper air travel. For some, the fact that Elgol is at the end of 15 mile single track road may prove to be a deterrent, but for others it is a major attraction. The road has spectacular mountain and coastal scenery and our location offers scope to get away from it all.

What you can expect from Springbank
Our cottage accommodates a maximum of four guests but we also provide a travel cot and high chair. All rooms have electric storage heating or convector heaters and all beds have heated underblankets.

The cosy living room features a log burning stove; comfy seating for four. There is an iPod/MP3 docking station with CD and Radio; Bluetooth speaker and FreeSat HD TV plus a selection of CDs, DVDs and library of books including local reference and visitor information.

The dining conservatory faces out onto the garden giving extensive views to the Sleat peninsular of Skye and the Mainland hills beyond. It has a dining table and seating for four.

The main bedroom is spacious and has a double bed with double duvet, four pillows and blanket plus wardrobe and plenty of storage space.

The compact kitchen is equipped with: electric cooker; larder fridge; microwave oven; and dishwasher (supply of tablets provided).

The bathroom has an electric heater, bath, WC and WHB.
The shower room has an electric heater, electric shower, WC and WHB.
Utility and drying room
The utility room houses: a fridge freezer; washing machine (supply of detergent and fabric conditioner provided); a tumble dryer; an electric heater with drying rail above; and iron and ironing board.

Our purpose-built studio and activities room offers a unique space that will add another dimension to your stay in Skye. We have put together resources, maps, guides, books, identification aids, hands-on instructions, and unique where-to-see information based on our extensive experiences and detailed knowledge of the local area.

Large garden
We have a large, well-stocked, south-east facing garden which has a large “sun trap” patio area and plenty of garden furniture. It also has a byre which houses the log store and can be used to store bikes etc.
